Do you want to run your own business? But still confused whether to leave your current stable job and start the unpredictable life of a business or you have just passed your Post graduation and want to start your own company.

Before proceeding with the decision to run your own business, first you need to understand that making the leap from employee to entrepreneur means changing not only your lifestyle, but also your mindset. And the most important question you need to ask yourself before spending your time, money and energy is whether you have what it takes to own a business?

Well, I am asking these questions to me as well since I too want to become an Entrepreneur. And therefore I have identified the reasons to why I want to become an entrepreneur and not just an Employee.

1. You Control your own Destiny

Control your destiny and be your own boss. You don’t need permission to implement your ideas or your rules, you just do it! When you’re in a driver seat, you are responsible to give direction to your business and steer your company into the future you want.

 

2. You Get To Do What You’re Interested In

When you do the things you’re interested in, you are actually following your passion. It’s fun when you are doing something you are enjoying. Even investing long working hours in growing your business doesn’t feel like work because it’s fun and you are enjoying it.

 

3. You Can Find Your Own Work/Life Balance

With your business, your rules, You can be flexible with your own hours. You need not to stick with 9 to 5 working hours, if it doesn’t work for you, change it as per your own convenience. Owing a business also gives you flexibility to run your business from anywhere, whether it’s from a nearby coffee shop, home, or rented office. With wireless internet being available in most places, it gives you the chance to get out of your hole and get inspired by everyday life.

 

4. You Choose the People You Work With

When you work for other organization, you will not get a chance to choose whom you work with. If you don’t like your co-workers or boss, you tend to switch job and because of the nature of the work and meeting different people regularly, you find those disgusting people regularly. When you own the business, you have the authority to make the decisions whom to hire (or fire). Also It’s been said by successful entrepreneurs: “The smaller your organization, the larger choice you have about who you work with.”

 

5. You Can Challenge Yourself

Some people thrive on the routine of their job – performing the same tasks day after day. As an entrepreneur, every day will be filled with new challenges and new opportunities. Be creative in your work and make yourself open for exploring and learning new things. It’s important to be constantly sharpening and adjusting your vision to challenge yourself with questions which may make you feel uncomfortable and will force you to be honest. In every phase of the business life cycle you need to know the answers to these questions  a) Why are we doing this? b) what are our strength? c) Who will join us? d) How am i Serving? and e) Am I actively listening?

 

6. You Can Give Back to Your Community

Starting your own business can be a great way to give back to the community by helping them grow by donating charities and creating jobs. There is a great pride in knowing that you’re solving other’s problem and creating opportunities for people to have jobs that they love.
